THE
PINE TREES LAUGH , THE SNOW SCREAMS
By
Cameron McConnell (State Nominee)
I am flying through the air. The snow screams, ÒAhhhh,Ó
and runs out of the way.
The pine trees laugh ÒHa Ha
Ha;Ó they think it is funny that the snow screams in
terror.
The world is a blur, as I dart through the snow at
one hundred miles per hour. SWISH! There is all this color flashing around me.
It looks like a baby splattered paint on a white paper.
The wind plays in my hair. ÒWEEE,Ó it giggles. Rocks
try to stop me. ÒRRRR!Ó They yell in frustration; but I jump over them.
The
dirt hollers for joy to be free at last, ÒYahoo!Ó
Then I fly over a big rock. IÕm Free!!! Then I slide to a stop.
WOW!
